At Uhlenhorst, we accommodate our guests in luxury rooms decorated with artifacts handmade in Namibia. The linen is designed by Anin Embroidery, one of our community's proud businesses. Anin employs out-of-work Nama (native) women from the area. All guest rooms have an in-suite bathroom with 24 hour hot water and electricity. The electricity in Namibia is 220 volts, but we do have adaptors for appliances requiring 120 volts. The fresh drinking water is pumped from boreholes (wells) deep below the earth’s surface and it is perfectly safe for drinking. We also have bottled water for individuals who may not be comfortable drinking our well water.

Our facilities include:

·         Cell phone reception at the lodge and most of the hunting areas.

·         Internet connectivity on our office computer.

·         Swimming pool.

·         Curio and gift store.

·         Small local store with a few every-day needs.

·         Strong safe for protecting important items like your passport and money. We highly recommend that you use our safe to prevent the loss of personal items while hunting.

·         Daily laundry, at no extra cost.

We have something interesting for the whole family, from exotic parrots and birds to our hand raised pet cheetahs, Sheewa and Kambesi.

After a successful day in the hunting fields our guests can refresh with ice-cold beverages in our lapa (an outdoor room with a thatch roof). We also spend our evenings in the lapa enjoying a hot meal prepared family style, retelling the stories of the day, and enjoying each others company. Our meals include a lot of delicious, aged game meat as well as beef and chicken; all depending on our guest’s preferences. We also do special sundowners (evening picnics) on the red Kalahari dunes.
